Meet Dana Christensen
Certified Piano Technician
Member, Piano Technicians Guild National & Portland Chapter
I’ve been servicing pianos in the Central Oregon area since 2017, working with some of the top musical organizations, including the Central Oregon Symphony Orchestra, IN A LANDSCAPE, Tower Theatre, Central Oregon Community College, Sunriver Music Festival, Bend La Pine and Redmond school districts, as well as and many of the top piano teachers and performers in Central Oregon.
I earned my Piano Technology Certification in 2007 from the renowned North Bennet Street School in Boston. I’m also a 2024 graduate of the Renner Academy, Scottsdale, AZ, as part of their week-long hands-on training in the art of replacing and regulating the grand piano action, working alongside with some of the industry’s top instructors and technicians.
I’m currently serving as Treasurer for the Portland Chapter of the Piano Technicians Guild, where I continue to expand my knowledge base and skill set through chapter meetings, seminars and conferences.
Coming from a musical family, I started on the piano at age 6, but my primary focus was the French horn, earning my Bachelors in Music Performance from University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Masters in Music Performance from Northwestern University. I played horn professionally throughout the New England area for 22 years, based in Boston.
I’m pleased to call Central Oregon home now, enjoying a rich life that includes volunteer work and a lot of time outdoors taking part in activities like trail running, hiking and backpacking, as well as gravel and mountain biking, and Nordic and downhill skiing. You’ll also might find me riding my electric bike to appointments and errands around town to lessen the personal impact I have on the environment and our climate.
